Government launch a consultation to raise accessibility standards on new homes
The importance of suitable homes for older and disabled people has been recognised by the launch of a government consultation to raise accessibility standards for new homes.
The consultation will run until 11:45 pm on 1 December 2020.

In particular, the consultation will consider how the existing optional accessible and adaptable standard for homes and the wheelchair user standard are used and whether the government should mandate a higher standard or reconsider the way the existing optional standards are used.
