COVID-19 Support Grant offered to families and financially vulnerable adults for May Half Term
The voucher is being offered to families with school-aged children. Those with young children in early learning settings are being asked to apply directly via their education setting.
Additionally, families with children under the age of 2, or may not be attending school currently (e.g. electively home educated), and adults without children who meet the following criteria, can also apply.
- made redundant since 23 March 2020 and remain unemployed
- self-employed and are waiting, or are not eligible for Self Employed COVID Financial support
- in receipt of Income Related Employment or Support Allowance, Universal Credit, Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance Income based
- on a low income defined as below “16 hours at National Living Wage for someone age 25 and over (£139 per week)”
- unable to meet essential needs, which presents a risk to physical or mental wellbeing
- referred by a Foodbank
- referred by a service within the council
- referred by Citizens Advice Bureau after seeking debt advice
- verified as a rough sleeper or homeless by the council

The referral form is open until 5 pm on 27 May at which point it will be closed to allow vouchers to be processed and sent out for the May term.

The funding is primarily intended for families with children, however, as an approximate guide, 20% of vouchers can be allocated to adults with no children.
